The Day I Met Faith

As He restores and heals me one step at a time… He keeps unveiling His word He has hidden in my heart, for moments like these. Only to come forth so unexpectedly. As I jot down the words they settle my flesh and place my mind at ease. I am reminded all the way through, He is the Great Comforter for He knows what, how, and when we need.

The day I met faith,

for the very first time

It seemed I had met her before

as though the encounter was set in motion

from on high.

At last I could put a name with a face.

From a child I could not see her

but she was effervescent.

A  meeting not of chance only by

design of The Ancient of Days.

From a small girl Faith was always

looming but never seen. Whispered but

never engaged. Inclined but never endeavored.

I learned to believe; to see to act to conquer

having been the ways of my assured steps.

As the years aged, Faith became insistent, forcing me without

touch to move beyond my comforts.

Stretching me outside my figment walls.

Tearing down my imaginary limits.

Peeling back the layers of emotional baggage

that I carried for years, even across generations.

As Faith restructured and healed my soul.

She kept making me stronger with each feat.

By preempting movement without touch, words, or warning.

All and all Faith was transforming this little girl

at heart, bit by bit.

One midnight at a time.

After all I learned to lean on

Faith when the times were toughest.

Faith taught me to move, see, and conquer

never meeting her.

She said hi I am Faith, how do you do?

But she already knew I was just fine.

As she had been along for the ride

with a front row seat.

The thing is I only met

her once I reached my goal.

The day I met Faith…

Here is a song to encourage: Hero by Kirk Franklin

The Strength To Prevail

Today I saw something disgraceful that tugged at my heart. I quickly acknowledged it for what it was and chose not to ridicule the individual, knee-deep in addiction. I had compassion for the person as I knew the struggle was real. You see I have seen loved ones try to shake it for years and not be successful. I also am keenly aware, just as God did not send his son, Jesus into the world to condemn the world. Neither did He dispatch His warriors of the faith, into the highways and byways to condemn, judge, or shame anyone. That is simply not the loving God we serve.  As believers, we must love them beyond their addiction, vice, or strongholds. If you are asking how do we do that? I’m glad you asked, embrace those with that affliction in love and don’t treat them like one has the plague.

His compassion never ends. It is only the Lord’s mercies that have kept us from complete destruction. Lam 3:22 TLB

So a hug if you will, is a great start. This first step, is the very place Abba Father will introduce Himself to the very one in the midst of the struggle. In various churches, we are adamant and sharp on what God is. Pushing all of their traditions that have been taught eons and eons ago, all the while missing the key element. That is showing His love. Many times that’s what hurting people are starving for a touch from the Lord. For those called to do so, we are His hands, feet, and voice in the earth. Yes, we are all called to win souls or be fishers of men and women. Also lying at the root of our existence is our unique destiny, in our spiritual bellies just waiting to be birthed, at the appointed season. For most the reason the stronghold is so hard to shake, the devil uses it to hold us back. To keep us from meeting the mark or our purpose. In other words if the devil can keep us chasing our tails he can delay Gods purpose for your life. Be mindful, the devil can’t thwart the plan of God. Where he slithers in causing confusion as he is the author. Once he has stalled us, he goes in for the jugular and attempts death, destruction, or robbery. Thank God, he knows no new tricks so his playbook is the same. His method of operation is always to kill, still and destroy. The sooner we recognize his tactics the better off we will be. The devil is not our friend, anything he feeds is meant for our demise.

Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!” Matt26:41 NLT

Biblical Example:

There was the woman in the bible that slept around with many men. To show Jesus and how he showed her love and compassion. After the pharisees pointed her out to Jesus and what she has done. He asked one question, ye without sin, cast the first stone… It was an open and shut case thereafter, as they all dropped their stones instantly. They did so, as they knew they/we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. No her addiction was not drugs, but sleeping around definitely fit the category of strongholds. A stronghold by spiritual definition; a stronghold is a point of operation from where satan can keep the unbeliever captive or the believer incapacitated. So invite anyone today to shake loose whatever binds you; drugs, sex, liar, thief, anger, food just to name a few. Would you say this pray and lets watch what God does as you pray this pray with a sincere heart.

Prayer To Loose Addiction

Father God I declare an and suddenly release for those struggling with any type of drugs or strongholds now. I ask that you wipe the taste from their mouths, as the blood of Jesus has set them free. Settle them in their flesh as You strengthen them in their members. I ask for Your peace to consume them and shake them lose from the ties that bind. Asking for Your healing to grab hold of them and over flows in their heart, mind and body. Make the crooked places that reside in them, straight. Forgive them from all alarm and show them in plain view it is Your mighty hand that has spared them in this Thine hour, in the name of Jesus amen and amen.

The Road Less Traveled

Every time you hear the still small voice it is critical, like 911. It can be a warning, a calming, a defense mechanism, all setting the tone for you to cope. Either way it’s the Holy Spirit giving you a heads up. Case and point, you’re in route to your destination and although there were diverse ways to get there. Your guide or that still small voice moved you to take the road less traveled. Now you could question why you are taking the longest route or you could trust God and know He would not steer you wrong. While others traveled the quickest or median distance to reach the location. Be mindful, getting there the quickest is not always beneficial. His way is to slow you up a bit, to show you something. By faith, you proceeded on the road less traveled. That something is critical to your journey. For those that took the shortest distance to arrive at the destination, it resulted in you not seeing the critical piece to the puzzle. Sometimes it was also a diversion tactic to keep your safe. Then other times it was a means to an end. Ultimately, to put you at the destination later so that you would cross paths with a certain someone. All and all it was to equip you, for the long haul ahead.

Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him to help you do it, and he will. Psalm 37:5 TLB

There are those from a different generation or even of a learned mind set, that would argue going the quickest route would get you there with room to spare and still yield what God is showing you. Many times the extended travel is not only showing yoimageu something but delaying from experiencing something devastating or the person you are meant to see would not be there until the charted time. When He takes us the longer route it is for;

  • Sustainment
  • Encouragement
  • Comfort
  • Empowerment

Biblical Example

Remember Elijah, He led him into the wilderness where the river quenched his thirst and the raven fed him. Two of the unlikeliest means to be nourished for mankind. Both of these measures were the road less traveled. So it was the longest means to eat and drink but guess what, over time Elijah became strengthened, empowered, and sustained for the journey ahead. God could have done it differently and easier but, He knew He had to equip Elijah for the long haul. Now that didn’t make the road any easier but He did prepare the way. That’s one of His promises to us, He always prepares the way ahead of us.

You guide me with your counsel, leading me to a glorious destiny. Psalm 73:24 NLT

But the [a]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you. John 14:26 AMP

The Spirit of truth will come and guide you in all truth. He will not speak His own words to you; He will speak what He hears, revealing to you the things to come and bringing glory to Me. The Spirit has unlimited access to Me, to all that I possess and know, just as everything the Father has is Mine. That is the reason I am confident He will care for My own and reveal the path to you. John 16:13 VOICE

Personal Example:

I attended a woman’s conference in Atlanta, TX. It was a Beth Moore simulcast. I was leary about going because I did not have everything in the natural to attend. But He made away just in the nick of time. When I pulled up the directions for travel, there were three different routes. In a still small voice, I heard the road less traveled. There were clearly two different routes that would have put me at the destination 20 to 3o minutes quicker. The conference started promptly at 11:30 am on Aug. 15th, 2015. As I traveled, I noticed some things very insignificant. But as I walked in the church auxiliary doors. I noticed, all the beautiful women at the church as they were singing and worshipping God, it was a full house. Right away the Pastor walked toward me and then the Worship Pastor’s wife met me and led me to a seat, right next to her mother-in-law. She told me she had a special place for me. I was nervous because I was alone, but I knew God was right there with me. I also knew I was in a safe place, I could sense it. This body of believers made me feel welcomed. I also knew I was friendly, so they responded to me in the same manner. It did not matter that I was not apart of the flock.

After praise and worship and watching the first segment of the simulcast-conference titled, Audacity of Hope. We gathered for lunch. Just as lunch wrapped up, I spoke with different ladies throughout the conference. I went back to my seat and noticed there was something in my seat, it was a shiny new book. I giggled because I had just left Beth Moore’s, table of all her products and had looked at the book, even picked it up. I did not have enough money on me, so I put it back down. Then I arrived back at my seat and it’s sitting in my chair. I was elated and realized He had worked it out, all for my good. The conference started back up again, we had two more breaks before it ended. The most amazing thing happened. I remember the final song as all the ladies sang in unison. It was In Christ Alone. The chorus of that song filled the place and the Holy Spirit just moved upon all the women’s hearts. After I felt a charge of the Holy Spirit, the spiritual voltage amped up in that room. The most amazing thing was it was not just me it was a host of other ladies that felt the rising up, of the Comforter in all of us, on that day. He showed me numerous things on that day but the most pivotal, was together we rise as an army for His cause and are stronger to crush mountains, trample over discouragements and ring the necks of the dragons in our lives. I encourage anyone reading these words, to begin to hear His whisper and reject the tactics and tricks of satan.

Here is a song of encouragement: What If I Gave Everything by Casting Crowns

The Best Christmas Ever

Christmas today is a conglomerate, a machine if you will, of “what are you buying me”. Now, that is not to say there aren’t those that celebrate this day for what it really means. Yes, there are those that refuse to buy into the hype and embrace the reason for the season, the birth of Christ. Then we have those that have made a conscious choice to give God what He wants on this day. They gave themselves to Jesus, making this time the best Christmas ever for them. That’s all God wants, He wants those that don’t belong to Him. For those individuals to make the choice, to choose Him. If you are asking how can you give yourself to God? I am glad you asked, easy as there is only one way and that is through Jesus. You say a prayer with a sincere heart, and ask Him to come into your heart and asking for forgiveness for your sins. Knowing that Jesus died for your sins, that’s it. Many will ask, am I changed instantly? No not by a long shot, as it’s a process. Day by day He will chip away at your heart, transforming you from the old to the new man.

imageAt about four o’clock in the morning, Jesus came toward them walking on the water. They were scared out of their wits. “A ghost!” they said, crying out in terror. Matthew 14:25 MSG

Then she came and fell down before him, saying, “Lord, help me!” Matthew 15:25 ISV

Then Jesus answered her, “Lady, your faith is great! What you want is granted.” That very hour her daughter was healed. Matthew 15:28 ISV

There is another reason, this will be the best Christmas ever. Sense we all tend to be in different seasons, going from rest to storm to fruitful to darkness to light and then repeating the cycle in certain cases. There are those that will begin their ascent into restoration, thereby revitalizing their lives. What’s amazing and down right dazzling about this time of year, is to be restored in this season, when many focus on the material aspect. God chose this time to place you in the midst of harvesting. That’s what makes this time of year the best Christmas ever. When you really get right down to the brass tacks of it all, that’s when Jesus arrived on the scene. He was born during a time of harvesting. But in his case, he was born in a lowly manager. No bright lights, fine linen or superior housing. He was born in a poor state so that we may become rich in spirit. Yet God would select this time for you to be restored. At the time of his birth, Mary and Joseph were propelled into restoration and recompense:
  • Joseph embraced Gods night vision
  • Mary was proven true once Jesus arrived, she wasn’t crazy after all
  • Three wise men also arrived bearing much gifts, led by the North Star
  • They had to leave Nazareth (hometown) and go to another place

Now, if that isn’t miraculous and so God-orchestrated, I don’t know what is. So if you are on the cusp of restoration, revitalization, and rebuilding. Then you too must be a Mary of today. No, we don’t need a re-enactment of Jesus and Mary. HE is so vast he does not need to repeat miracles, He is the authenticator of all things miraculous. In this day and time God has chosen the unlikeliest women that have Mary size testimonies, but very unique in their own right, these women are His new wine and shall do a great work. Let’s face it, He has more than enough purpose to issue out and then some. Rest assured, whatever God whispered and vowed to you, surely He will perform through you. You, yeah you this post is talking to you. You know who you are… Be of good courage and don’t be afraid. He made you to be bold, to carry out His mission.

When I passed by you again and saw you, behold, you were at the age for love, and I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your nakedness; I made my vow to you and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Lord God, and you became mine. Ezekiel 16:8 ESV

And I adorned you with ornaments and put bracelets on your wrists and a chain on your neck. Ezekiel 16:11 ESV

Motioned To Open My Hands

imageMy heart and hands has always been open for those that seem to be forgotten or unfavorably known as the downtrodden. Even when I didn’t have much I still had a soft spot. Never fully understanding why. Back then I was selfish and focused on numero uno. So if I did do something for that group of people, I was typically looking for recognition in someway. You know, a way to boast myself.

For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.’ Deuteronomy 15:11

I remember my daddy, when we were young he would help the not so fortunate, but very rarely gave them cash. I never quite understood that as a youngster. He was more prone to buy them a meal, as he never wanted to support their habit. As I got older I began to understand, but it never subsided my yearning to open my hands, as I encountered those that were less fortunate. My daddy would try to explain how many, would lie just to fill their habit or pockets. But as a little girl, it always tugged at my heart when my dad did not give to them, what seem to be a dire need for cash. One of the unique traits of my dad, he was not only business savvy, sharp as a tack, but also had a High IQ for street smarts. This was an area where my daddy said I lacked. I somehow missed that lesson growing up, street smarts 101. I was no saint, I did my dirt, back then in other ways.

Because You stand up for the poor and weak, You comfort and empower them in their distress, Giving them safe harbor and cool shade when it’s hot; You shelter them from their oppressors’ blows As a strong wall holds back the driving rain. Isaiah 25:4 VOICE

imageThen, moving right along to motherhood and my boys, John and Justin at that time were very young, about three and four years old. We were living in Atlanta, GA. During Thanksgiving when I bought our groceries, I also bought extra, for those in need. The boys and I carried the groceries into the local pantry for the church, we attended. I wanted them to know what it was like to help someone else, in a tough spot. Then again, as they got older we helped serve along side with the Salvation Army in Tyler, TX, serving
Christmas dinner in 2006. There again,  I wanted them to know how to help others not as fortunate. Truthfully, in that stage of my life I was most concerned about appearances. So while I was hoping to teach the boys a lesson on giving. I missed the biggest lesson of them all and that was giving to others, is not about recognition, being seen or heard. In fact, His word says what we do in secret He will reward us publicly in time. Matthew 6:4.

He will rescue the poor when they cry to him; he will help the oppressed, who have no one to defend them. Psalm 72:12 NLT

Fast forwarding to today. He nestles in His word, we are to take care of the poor. We are to take care of the poor, lowly, widows. Fancy that it’s been there all this time and I never noticed it until now. As He continued to explode these scriptures in me, I now recognize the seed was planted long ago. Although, I had distorted thinking when it came to giving to others, way back then. It was still at the root, of my heart. So now I know I am to take care of his people. We never really know the plans God has for us, but as we avail ourselves to His will for our lives. He unfolds His plans layer by layer in our hearts and minds. My oldest, John told me one day; Momma God helps those who helps themselves. I corrected him. No son, God helps us all, when we trust and obey Him. In my core, I know helping those that are less fortunate is not for everybody, but rest assured it’s for me and anyone that’s accepts the charge. I don’t know what it all entails, but I trust God to provide for anything He orchestrates. So the obligation is on Him to perform. For you see this is way to big for me to construct, craft or create. This is a thing that is established and performed at His hand, through me.

Biblical Example

I am reminded of a widow woman that encountered Elisha the prophet. She reminded him how her husband reverenced God, and yet the creditors had come to take her two sons to fulfill their debt. So he asked her what she had in the house and she said only a pot of oil. He gave her clear instructions, go and borrow the vessels. He said, not just a few but many from your neighbors. Now let’s take pause at this juncture and remember, her faith is week and she is weak and grieved because her husband has recently died. Here it is, the man of God told her, to go and collect all of the vessels you can. So in her current state, she and her sons retrieved more vessels. Thereafter, because of her obedience the man of God performed a miracle right before her eyes. The oil was increased speedily. They poured and poured and poured and then ran out of vessels and there the oil stayed…That means the oil did not run out anymore. Let’s highlight three points here and now: remember, obedience, and faith is what ripened the miracle right before their eyes. God looks after His people, she was a widow and she pointed out her husband feared God. Then Elisha gave instruction, to go and retrieve many vessels. That part of the assignment was fulfilled swiftly by she and her sons. The three again excercised their faith, by going and getting the vessels and then watching the miracle unfold before their eyes. As the oil continuously stayed at the bottom of the vessel. Remember, she only had a pot of oil, so how did it increase? But God, I like His multiplication. Be mindful, there was a process that had to be followed. Sometimes the circumstances warrant Gods swift hand to react and then we see immediate results. Then other times the miracle unfolds in the waiting. There are also times when His is answer is no. We all must know that His no is sure to be a setup for something far greater. He has the view farther up the road, that we can’t see. Lastly, don’t get caught up in how God performs His signs and wonders. Most likely each time He will perform the miracle differently dependent upon who and what the cause is. He is so vast and without borders, why would we limit Him to perform a miracle, in the same manner everytime. Elisha could have closed his heart to her but he knew Gods instruction… So he too was obedient to take care of the widow woman. When he opened his heart to her, he opened his hands. That is how God has bequethed believers to move. We must always open our hands to those less fortunate. A closed heart is a closed fist, which closes the door to Gods movement.

Soon every container was full to the brim! “Bring me another jar,” she said to one of her sons. “There aren’t any more!” he told her. And then the olive oil stopped flowing. 2 Kings 4:6 NLT

Here is an exceptional and encouraging song, that fits like a glove to this story: Open Hands by Laura Story

You and Me Walk

Do you posses what you need for endurance of your latest storm? I am here to tell you God said you have everything you need 2 Peter 1:3 nlt. He gave me the word endurance. No, it’s not a new word but He broke the word down in the simplest of terms. He let me know that we each have a course or race to endure. This is how He broke it down…End-u-rance;

  • E-endure
  • U-your
  • R-race

Have you endured your latest storm? Are you growing weary by the constant attacks of the devil or the trying times you see around you? Yes, you have been tossed to and fro, don’t get out the boat and stay the course.

Did you know God gives each and everyone of us a course. In the course we have everything we need for endurance. As believers where we run into obstacles when we try to walk out someone…

Wind Chimes of Wisdom – Part 1

I will declare His word and works wherever I go. As I meet various people, often times there is an exchange of words of wisdom. As I was writing today, I tuned in to exactly that. I want you to know, had I been focused in on something else I would have missed the wind chimes of wisdom. I called it that because today the words were soft and if I had not paid good enough attention I would have missed it. Many times words of the learned are imparted but are we really listening. When wind chimes make a sound it’s not loud but very distinct and pleasing to discriminating ears. Wisdom is the same it’s distinct and pleasing to a certain set of ears. So I decided to marry the two and hence the name “Wind Chimes of Wisdom”, it just seem to make sense. So all of these colorful discussions I am cataloguing under that title. One thing is for sure, if we are not in tune we will miss the wind chimes of wisdom.

Wind Chimes of Wisdom – Tree of Life

Talking with my friend Larry, at Starbucks I recognized at various moments the wind chimes were ringing, but did I hear, perceive or pen it every time? He and I typically have lengthy discussions and often he shows off his satirical wit, as he is a serial jokester. Since he is always telling a joke; this day I didn’t know how to respond when the conversation took an unexpected turn. As his content of words turned deep in nature.

Just to share a snippet, he said, long ago everyone walked up 51 flights of stairs to the Empire State Building. Then out of nowhere, old OTIS came along. I knew he was  referring to the elevators, as I remember seeing the name OTIS embossed on a number of elevators, over the years. Continuing with his story, he said almost immediately walking became a thing of the past. The elevator became the sure bet, to gain access to the top of the roof. With this new progress of change in that day and time, who would want to walk the stairs anymore? When there is a faster and easier way to get to the top. So the change from the stairs to the elevators was denoted as an achievement and progress all in one. There are changes that propel us and thereby deemed a success, this was certainly one example. There are also changes, changed simply for the sake of changing. Not only are these a wasted effort, but also cause us to become stagnate. When we change things just to change a thing, it ultimately causes us to miss out on the middle. In essence we miss the steps in between. The elevator made it easier for us to get from one place to another in a building. So it was a necessary evil, if you will.

The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to anyone who seeks help from him. Lamentations 3:25 GW

But in our day-to-day life and since we’ve become use to so much progress, we are challenged to wait for any length of time. It is as though waiting is passe’ as it has loss its lackluster. One could ask was waiting, ever in fashion? Probably not, but we have definitely become that much more desensitized at the thought of waiting. Not to mention waiting on God is not the desired approach, to exercise our faith. Many times we give up on Him and go with our own plans and some how rationalize he didn’t show up, so we attempt to fix it ourselves. We are also master-manipulators of putting the cart before the horse, in the most precarious ways. We miss out, on the in between seconds, hours, days, weeks, months and yes even years. All because we want to get somewhere in life faster than another.

It will be said in that day, “Indeed, this is our God for whom we have waited that He would save us. This is the Lord for whom we have waited; Let us shout for joy and rejoice in His salvation.” Isaiah 25:9 AMP

When we choose to go a different route, what we are really saying I have a better way than God. No, we rarely vocalize those words, but that is the just what we are saying. Just once if we waited on Him in His ways we could truly say, I went the distance, completed the process and was victorious. If we never go the distance in Him how would we ever know what our end is going to be in Gods eye’s? So then the next time we have the same trust issues in Him, because we didn’t wait on God before. What I am learning in and out of season and while I wait; whether in the eye of the storm or at the threshold of break-through, His way will prevail. When it comes right down to it, I cringe at the notion to wait. This is the very place He wants to get us to and until we settle down or up in Him, we shall remain right in our spot or move on in our own might. Once we are comfortable with waiting on God it won’t be about the length of the journey, but more so enjoying the view. An example of this very thing in His word, the children of Israel. That’s what there murmuring and complaining stemmed from, everything took to long and they kept trying to carry out things in their own way. Also, Abraham and Sarah are pivotal examples of getting anstey and fidgety waiting on God, to deliver the promised son. So what did they do? Yes, Sarah came up with her own plan to make a baby.

Be still in the presence of the Lordand wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Psalm 37:7 NLT

There are those that would say, Sarah’s choice was not all bad, but there were consequences for her actions. Sarah, not only affected; she and her husband but also Hagar, Ishmael, Issac and a host of others. Yes there was grace for their mistakes even in that day and He still wasted nothing as it was all to the glory of God. Just another snapshot of how in the bible waiting was also quite the challenge.

An Awakening

House Finches Three Days Old

An awakening is the dawning of a new day at Gods hand. An example for today, to witness a momma house finch nesting and hatching her eggs. I experienced this up close and personal. It was the purest form of an awakening, on a smaller scale. This account was so timely as He keeps showing me awakenings. With a fresh set of eyes I saw the new birth, established in the earth. What He sets in motion, has a way of taking care of what is off in the cycle of life. This is with no intervention from man. There are those that would say He needs man to manipulate such a thing in the earth. I am here to tell you an awakening does not need man to move. They are always sustained within their own inhabitants.

On a global scale when an awakening occurs, the shift is so drastic many find the change difficult to adapt. Most change with the times but there are those resistant to change. Now God changes not, but we must adapt to change as that is how He turns us for the better. With each turn He crafts us to be more and more like Him. As a greater likeness, made in His image. Only the Creator would know how much to turn us to achieve greatness.

Then you send your Spirit, and new life is born to replenish all the living of the earth. #Psalm 104:30 TLB

Many times when God wants to show us a thing, it is right before our eyes. Often times we tend to miss it, as our focus is else where. When we get caught up in the hustle and bustle, of this thing called life. I am here to tell you nothing should become more important than His prompting. What He showed me in those moments, were marvelous in my eyes. What I saw captivated me so, I knew I had to take a picture. The baby house finches were roughly three days old. Their eyes weren’t opened yet, but their mouths were. I was in awe, I had not witnessed such an amazing sight. To see the birds hatched, eyes closed and yet mouths open for feeding was something only the Creator could perform. It caused me to realize how self-sufficient the baby birds really were. What is even more astounding is where the birds were hatched. The nest was nestled in a hanging fern plant. This is not a common site.  I was tickled at how God sets creation in motion. I also recognize He is God and God alone, He can do a thing however He chooses. The landscape and all its inhabitants belong to Him. How things are birthed, formed, live all is by His design and has a unique purpose.

For the Lord, who created the heavens [a](He is God, who formed the earth and made it; He established it and did not create it to be a wasteland, but formed it to be inhabited) says this “I am the Lord, and there is no one else. Isaiah 44:18 AMP

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. Psalm 24:1 NLT

The truth is we are over due for something new to come forth. Daily awakenings are happening, but are we seeing them take place? Many would say it’s the sign of the times. Where things have gone so wrong in our society, that we have become desensitized to the signs and warnings of God. I am here to declare, when we as a nation turn back to Him then and only then, will He reset the course of things. This is the juncture where we allow Him to be our focus once again. That is when we will see a pouring out of His Spirit. Lives will be changed globally, not just in pockets. The resurgence is already forming and taking place. It’s happening here and there. Those that have the boldness to step out and move, as most would not engage.

Biblical Example

God has shown us in His word time and time again, something different is performed in order to change the landscape. An example of God doing something different is David and Goliath. God used the scrawniest, the runt of the eight brothers to take out the giant. The strides Saul and his army had made before, was no longer effective. At the most notable time, David presented himself to Saul, as the one to take out Goliath. He was self-assured that he was the new tool and measure, that God would use he, to take care of the giant thing they faced in that day. God had prepared David, long before he stepped up to face the giant. He prepared him as he defeated a lion and a bear previously. All and all he possessed the measure of faith he needed to do what he was called to do in that day. As the tide turned, it went from “desperate times called for desperate measures” to “desperate times calls for new measures”. David, was bold and confident in his stance and in doing so he was successful in defeating the giant.

Today, He is calling out the peculiar one’s, those who shall arise no matter the cost, as to what they’ll face or suffer. His answer to set things right with God, is for those that are charged to pray, must pray. The great divide that’s in effect as we know it, will only get worse until prayer warriors unite, in accordance with His word.  We are all to often using the same remedy for an age-old problem. When He solved a problem in His word, it was with a new tool and new measures. The answer is pray vessels, pray vessels, pray vessels!

Wake up, wake up, Jerusalem, and clothe yourselves with strength from God. Put on your beautiful clothes, O Zion, Holy City; for sinners—those who turn from God—will no longer enter your gates. Isaiah 52:1 TLB

Prayer For Our Offspring

In Times Like These – Pray

A right now prayer for our offspring…

Father God I ask that our offspring draw nigh to your whisper and reject the wiles of satan. Forgive them where they’ve gone astray. Purify them from way back then that lingers in to today, as in certain cases they know not what they’ve done, as it stems from the previous generations. Reminding them You are their First Love, that they have missed. I Ask that all unholy ties, where they are captivated are chopped at the root, never to rise again. All generational curses that keep coming back in formation I cast them down now and forever more, and lose their footsteps of destiny. Turn their hearts to you and shape them to be plowable in You, for such a time as this. Ignite a fire in this generation Lord God that can’t be put out and spread like wildfire. Asking you to become their mainstay and give them wisdom as You see fit. So that they spot the tricks that are meant to harm or destroy them. Show them Lord God, that their true enemy is satan and all his minions. Reveal to them satan wants to snipe them out, to keep them from their impending destinies. Also ask that You seal and sure up promise and purpose for their appointed time, for I know they are strengthened as they wait on You. I also know Lord, change requires sacrifice, but we ask that your mercies continue to surround them where possible. We ask that you hand out Your reprieve as You see fit. Thanking You Lord for Your imputed grace that we could never earn, only as You could offer up. All of this and so much more we ask in Jesus name Amen and Amen.

Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice. Psalm 55:17 NKJV

My sons, do not neglect your duties any longer! The Lord has chosen you to stand in his presence, to minister to him, and to lead the people in worship and present offerings to him.” 2 Chronicles 29:11 NLT

Then Hezekiah declared, “Now that you have consecrated yourselves to theLord, bring your sacrifices and thanksgiving offerings to the Temple of the Lord.” So the people brought their sacrifices and thanksgiving offerings, and all whose hearts were willing brought burnt offerings, too. 2 Chronicles 29:31 NLT

Bake Me A Cake

In this lesson, I want to delve into Elijah and the widow woman and her son, with a fresh set of eyes. This viewpoint will not only enlighten but also explode the act of obedience through the nursery rhyme “bake me a cake as fast as you can”. Most importantly this is a comparison between a parent and the child’s relationship versus our Heavenly Father and us. When we tell our child to do something and they don’t get it done, there are consequences. The same holds true for us when God ask us to do something. In this devotional we will bake a cake with five main ingredients;

  1. obedience
  2. sacrifice
  3. faith
  4. humility
  5. love

With these ingredients we will peel back the layers of His word, and illustrate how the widow woman obeyed the Lord in the midst of her trying times. To set the foundation for each of these ingredients, there was a drought and famine in the land. The reason for the drought was sin. He sent Elijah to proclaim the drought over that region because of their disobedience. After speaking those words, his next assignment was the widow woman and her son. Of course He would send the very vessel, He used to speak the drought and famine over the land. To turn around and bless the widow woman and her son, in the midst of the same fate, low supply of water and only enough rations for one meal.

  • God instructed Elijah to go to Zarephath and dwell there. Also, He commanded the widow woman to sustain His prophet. Elijah asked her to bake him a cake as fast as she can. So we start with two acts of obedience. There was much riding on these two acting out in obedience. As neither one would get what they needed if the two weren’t obedient. It’s vital for us to be obedient at any point as when we are not the effect is, we hold up what He has for us.
  • She baked a small cake for the prophet first, to sacrifice she and her sons meal over the prophet’s. That take us back to; obedience is better than sacrifice.
  • It took the widow woman’s faith to hear God when He commanded her to sustain His prophet. Her faith was also necessary in order to refresh Gods prophet before she and her son ever ate. I don’t know about you, but who feeds someone else over themselves during a time of severe drought/famine? Yes, one who obeys God.
  • When she confessed to Elijah that she only had enough morsels for she and her son to eat their last meal and die, in essence she was saying she was at her lowest point. We are humbled when we are at the bottom. In order to rise-up we go from the bottom to the top and not the top to the bottom. She recognized the bind she was in and yet she still did what she was instructed to do.
  • And lastly the widow woman loved God as she did what He commanded her to do, which was take care of His prophet. When we obey God we show we love and fear Him. We love Him because He first loved us.

12 So she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.” 1 Kings 17:12 NLT

13 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’”1 Kings 17:13-14 NLT

15 So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days. 16 The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah. 1 Kings 17:15-16 NLT

We never know our girth and grit until we go through something. You see He built us to last as He has given to each of us a measure of faith Romans 12:3 NKJV. As we move through the storms of life, it’s never clear how we will make it out. Just know when we trust God we don’t need to figure it out in our might as it is not by our might or power, but by His Spirit. When it was all said and done the widow woman and her son did eat for many days, as they ate the good of the land. For you see His word is clear, if we are willing and obedient we shall eat the good of the land. Isaiah 1:19 NLT  Likewise Elijah, obeyed as well and he too ate the good of the land. No, obedience is never easy if it were, we would all do so without ever batting an eye. So it is in our obedience that we continue to be molded, crafted and finely tuned like a piano. So that just the right song, will come forth in His timing. This story of old applies to now. As whatever you are charged to do be obedient for your position in the earth depends on it, just like the widow woman. May the Lord add a blessing to the hearer and readers of His word.
