Something Old Something New Something Borrowed

Thoughts of your wedding day visions of the dress, flowers, guests, and oh yes the groom to the entire day unfolding. Well just as we think of that very special day. The Father longs for us to come to Him but in a greater way. I am reminded, love is patient love is kind and He wishes that none would perish. The day we surrender to Him and become His bride is the day we begin to enjoy full rights and privileges as His children. Folks He is looking for a bride, choose ye this day. He is preparing you and I for the return of the bridegroom, Jesus. Here is the latest study that God has placed on my heart. I wrestled with this one as it challenged me in so many ways. But that’s when I know God is crafting a one of kind masterpiece.

Then I will teach the rebellious Your ways, and sinners will return to You. Psalm51:13 HCSB

You and Me Walk

IMG_9422-0.JPG

Think about the canvas of Gods imagination and how He sees you and I. With that, the most amazing thing happened yesterday. I asked God for a sign to see where this road leads me. I found myself going to the grave site where my youngest son remains are buried. As I walked towards the headstone everything appeared the same, except the dirt. There seem to be more red clay packed on top. I walked around several times and then realized something else was different. As there appeared to be a second baseball on the ledge of the headstone. You see there had been only one which was a prop from the service. Then I picked up the ball and noticed an inscription

“7-28-14
Thanks Jordan!
Jerry
FROG”

I became uncontrollably emotional as you see I know I am healed from the sting of death of my youngest son. What…

The Dawn Of A New Day

With so many waiting to embark on the path of their new beginnings. The question that remains to be seen, is how do I get started. Many times it’s as simple as starting, placing one foot in front of the other and just do it. What we fail to realize, our new beginning started on the inside first and then everything else followed suit. But the first principle thing is to pray, so He can draw you to your new beginning.

I will guide you in the way of wisdom and I will lead you in upright paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered,
and when you run, you will not stumble. Proverbs 4:11-12 TLB

If we could just let the past be the past. He says in His word old things are past away and behold I make all things new. This new direction is a new beginning filled with seasons of great returns. It’s a new way to operate, filled with dreams unfolding if only we would take the leap. Food for thought (F4T)… the obstacle that tends to be in our way, many times is us, because we can’t see ourselves as worthy of something new.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV

My friend, should you be coming up on the fork in the road and don’t know which way to turn. I implore you, allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in the right direction. Try something different and go where He is prompting you. You’ve tried it your way now go with the best, Gods way. Don’t look at how He is prompting others as that is not the move for you. The move He has for you, it will be just for you, like putting on a pair of shoes that fit your feet mighty fine. What you don’t know, in order for you to go there, He had to remove all of the toxic people as well as the misguided thoughts you had on replay. Remember this, even when it’s darkest before the dawn, you will always have a brighter day to surface, just around the bin. Here are a soliloquy of words adorned in my heart:

He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations. Psalm 105:8 NASB

Somewhere far away are the intentional,

makings of creation;

where from the foundations of the earth

destiny begins to formulate,

what the Creator has determined chosen for seasons,

only known to Him.

As He has set in motion what can’t be brought down

or reversed by man.

Is a new beginning wired for a fresh start

only to change the movement of how one operates.

A purpose propelled

to flourish into the footsteps approved by the Potter.

A restoration on course

to extend from one spectrum to the next.

A reaping that shifts the

trajectory of all those that adorned good or bad on another.

A fulfillment to host a brighter day

that was sparked by the Alpha and Omega;

to ignite the dawn of a new day and

change the countenance of those, from the inside out.

Calling All Wailing Women

Where are the women who’ve been silent on the surface? But have wailed to the Father on behalf of an unsaved husband, wayward child-teen-adult, unsaved family member, financial matter or health scare? You know what I am talking about ladies, as this was something you only took to the One who would solve it. You didn’t even tell anyone in your close-knit circle. Because He convicted your heart and clipped your wings to keep you in that spot, until such time your petition was fulfilled. So the only voice the Father heard from you, was you wailing out to Him on behalf of someone else. Don’t you know He picked you to wail (cry) out for another person because you are the closest one to that person. The question becomes, why not you? Be prepared, it is through your prayers that His work is performed.

An example today are the countless women banding together in spirit, in proxy for their unsaved husbands. For these men have had blinders on, to the things of God. I must ask you a question? How long is too long to wait on Him, to answer your wailing? Who places a time frame on unanswered prayer? I’ll answer that question, mankind does, pure and simple because we don’t hear from God in our time slot and presume no answer means no or we proceed with our very own plan. I am here to profess to you, no answer from God more times than not means He has already answered and He charged us to be still in the thing we have wailed out to Him. Women, whatever He has shown or moved you to wade in the water on don’t give-up on Him, because He won’t give up on you. I keep hearing believers say “I could not keep waiting”, or “I waited as long as I could”, or “I had to stop the bleeding” or the most common, “I heard nothing from Him”.

Consider and call for the mourning women, that they may come; And send for the [a]wailing women, that they may come!  18“Let them make haste and take up a wailing for us, That our eyes may shed tears And our eyelids flow with water.  Jer 9:17-18 NASB

“In all the squares there shall be wailing, and in all the streets they shall say, ‘Alas! Alas!’ They shall call the farmers to mourning and to wailing those who are skilled in lamentation. 17 and in all vineyards there shall be wailing, for I will pass through your midst,” says the Lord. Amos 5:16-17 ESV

I want to refresh all wailing women out there in your hearts and minds and apprise you, this is the season where God is looking to bless the very one’s that have sought Him. There is something about those that took “seek ye first” to heart and walked it out to the finish-line. Now is the time for the answer to your wailing to come forth.

Woman Was Formed

Although woman was created from man’s third rib, she was crafted after Gods heart. It is for this reason men and women are so different. As women tend to be nurturers, emotional, and loving creatures. No, that isn’t our whole DNA design, but that is how He formed you and I from the beginning. Look at the spot of the third rib juxtapose to the heart. It was His design all along that we be strengthened to bear more but yet fragile enough to nurture the family instinctively. Naturally we tend to be emotional beings to share compassion with one another. Women are feelers because of the heart of God. It is out of that love (the greatest love of all) He made woman. Food for thought; never underestimate a woman as there are women solely trusting God and waiting for their men to step up into their rightful place of destiny.

Generations of Old

Long ago this was the way God moved the women of old, you know the mother’s of the house. They wailed before the Lord on the matters of the house. They were also tasked to train the younger women how to wail. This is a torch that must be passed on to keep Gods work in motion.

Listen, you women, to the words of the Lordopen your ears to what he has to say. Teach your daughters to wail; teach one another how to lament. Jer 17:20 NLT

Personal Example

When I was a babe in Christ I prayed selfishly. My petitions were all about me and then as I got older my prayers included my immediate family. Oh, but once my midnights dawned my door. He transformed my prayer life and removed the focus from me to others. In the process of time, (not overnight) I graduated from praying selfishly to interceding for others to wailing on matters concerning anyone God led me to intercede on their behalf. For you see when we know better, we do better. He showed me the promises for me and mine and that also meant, that was exact thing I am moved to pray for. I am learning along the way that as God shows me things, that is what I must pray for. As it is through our prayers that He is changing lives one circumstance at a time.

Confess your trespasses[a] to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16 NKJV

Biblical Example

Prayers answered doesn’t always mean that we look lavished on the outside. In our world today we equate a successful looking person as they are all prayed up, blessed and highly favored. I submit to you more times than not, prayers aren’t really being answered as we may presume. We aren’t waiting the distance for God to do His work. So we craft our own scenarios and place a bow on it and say God did it, when His hand was not in it at all. I am reminded Of this very thing in the bible…

God told King Saul to go and completely destroy the sinful Amalekites, fight against them until you have annihilated them. To make matters worst while he sought after the Amalekites he stopped mid-stream and prayed again to ask Him what He should do about the Philistines. But Saul never received an answer from the Lord. I submit He did not hear anything from Him as He had already given the instruction on what to do. Saul did not obey as he left some of the people and he instructed his troops to bring back cattle as sacrifices to the Lord. So here’s the thing we can offer up all the sacrifices that we choose to, but it doesn’t amount to anything when we don’t obey. Yes, His grace covers us but even today there are consequences when we don’t obey the Father. So Saul’s consequence was the Lord stripped him of his crown in spirit and true. That is why you’ll read and hear King Saul served as king for forty years but was only anointed for two years. Then he raised up David to dethrone him. At some point in our walk of faith, the question becomes for all of us, will you obey God or man. Choose ye this day!

“What is more pleasing to the Lordyour burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22 NLT

And he who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will he change his mind, for he is not human that he should change his mind!” 1 Samuel 15:29 NLT

Here is an encouraging song: You Waited by Travis Greene

And Shall Not Doubt

The canvas of doubt is plagued

with worry, anxiety, and sorrow.

His mission is to starve your petitions

and blur the lines of faith.

For it’s neither black nor white and

always in between.

It’s stance is rooted solely in what you see.

His intention was not to

befriend you, only to woo you

when you were at your lowest moments

and left you as road-kill.

Over the years you grew apart

and saw less and less of him.

Until a new storm came ashore

yet again.

And then he overrode your thoughts

and tricked you

into thinking he was the best thing

since sliced bread.

Because the enemy don’t play fair!

I tell all of you with certainty, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ if he doesn’t doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Mark 11:23 NLT

Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 ESV

Hope Anchored: 69 Days All The Way

Have you ever believed in something so staunchly and stood alone in that belief? Well this account is my latest midnight, where I stood flat footed and pursued His cause no matter the obstacles before me. My hope anchored me, His peace soothed my flesh and His love positioned me to go all the way (ATW), for 69 days in jail. I have engaged trial after trial and treaded upon test after test and yet I have resolved my tendons to not give-in, thereby I am stronger. On April 19th, of this year I was faced with a thing that has seemingly held me hostage from my past, and yet very much of my present. You see I had hoped it had gone away since it was apart of a very painful season of my life, that just would not go away. What you must know, God never made us to run or turn our backs on our problems. So on that faithful Thursday, I was visited at my kitchen, Jordan’s Sweet Tooth Creations, where I baked my cakes, by four police officers. Three in uniform and one plain clothes and was arrested for failure to appear in court on April 3rd. The charge was non-payment of child support, this pertained to my middle son, Justin Dean Samples.

This hope [this confident assurance] we have as an anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whatever pressure bears upon it]—a safe and steadfast hope that enters within the veil [of the heavenly temple, that most Holy Place in which the very presence of God dwells], Hebrews 6:19

I wish I could tell you, my ex-husband and I were amicable in the finality of our divorce on November 31, 2013. That was simply not the case and quite frankly I wanted to forget that time of my life had ever occurred. But I could not in all good conscience do that because we have, three beautiful boys from that union. So for the sake of the posture of my heart, I am choosing to stand firm in my stance on forgiveness, of all those involved and tied to this ordeal. I have remained solvent in His mercies as they are new every morning. Just as I crucify my flesh daily, I am mindful to extend grace to others, so I don’t exhaust His grace for me. For the purposes of this post I am focused on the beauty that was realized in the 69 days I was incarcerated, in both Smith & Harris county jails. Yes, we must obey the laws of the land, as the bible clearly instructs all believers. What was largely at stake, was Gods cause for the lost souls that were held captive. I was constantly reminded in spirit and truth, whom the son sets free is free indeed. I knew I was free but the other souls were held captive and not seeking a way to be found. One by one, He led me to individual women, to fish for their souls. After all that is what He called us to be, fishers of men and women.

May God, the source of hope, fill you with joy and peace through your faith in him. Then you will overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 GW

It was truly His peace in me that carried me through. You know the gospel of peace that has been woven through my feet. Sure I had bouts where my focus would shift from Him to my circumstance. He would quickly and clearly remind me of His word, God is with me Isaiah 8:10 NLT. I must tell you I was so concerned, about how I would get in touch with my boys, John and Justin. I didn’t know their cell phone numbers by heart. But God, had a plan for me and mine. So I continued praying as His Spirit led me. I met Tammy in Smith county she was on the bottom bunk in cell 11. We prayed as she explained her story. I was shaken by the details because she was such a strong Mommy. She reminded me so much of myself, how we as mommies go through such trying times and yet we grow even stronger. We had so much in common and yet neither of us really knew how much we were the same. Once she left, it was roughly two weeks later I received a surprise letter. It was from Tammy and she had made such a gesture of love towards me. It turned out one of her sons played on the baseball team with my son Justin, so he approached him and told him your mom prayed for my mom in jail. That was how the boys found out where I was. You see God works in mysterious ways.

Just then I was reminded yet again, if we wait on God while we perform His works, He is sure to work things out for us. So as only God would have it, I was outside but not, and I saw the most beautiful thing. It was a yellow butterfly with three dark spots. I was in awe to see the butterfly while in maximum security, on the third floor. There was no greenery on the outside from that level, but yet there was one yellow butterfly flying inside and out. I was the only one to see such an amazing sight. Then that night during chow and talking to the two women I typically sat with, I shared what I had seen. Then they in turn said, on the news last night, Fox 51 covered the 9th annual butterfly release for children who are deceased. I asked, are you serious? They said they wouldn’t joke about such a thing. As they recited the details they mentioned, the parents released yellow butterflies. I immediately had goose bumps and tears began to well up and eventually flow. I knew that sign was definitely for me and those two other women. You see one of the women had also loss a son seven years earlier, in infancy. Only God would go to such heights, to send reminders of promise while His own were in jail. Also, only God would know one of the women and myself had loss a child. What was most amazing for me, I never knew about the 9th Annual Butterfly Release For Parents To Honor Children Who Are Deceased event. I was also quickly reminded in spirit and truth, Jordan was nine years old when he died, March 24, 2013. God so tenderly reminded me of His word that night, where the doves with an olive branch in the mouth flew over the ark. That was a sign, of promise for Noah. The same for me and my new-found friend, with the yellow butterfly. Reminiscent of Gods promise in the earth. His word is alive and well even today, Heaven and earth will pass away, but His word will never pass away Luke 21:33 TLV.

Fishing For Soul

That would always bring my focus back to His work. Like when they first transferred me inside the big jail for Harris county. I had cried under my covers and at the right moment I removed my head from underneath the covers and wiped my face. I noticed this young girl, she too had been crying with her head under the blanket. So in true God like fashion, I got out of my funk and begin talking to the young girl, her name was Sandra. She began to explain her crisis to me. I asked her can I pray for you, she shook her head yes and so that’s exactly what we did. Afterwards she got up and began to smile little by little. All God needed from me was to be bold and be His hands and feet to extend to Sandra. The amazing thing was later I realized she not only had the same name as one of my first cousins but she was the same age as my oldest, with the same birth-date.

Just as a mother couldn’t forget about her babies, how could God forget about what He created. As I was in Harris county and time had continued to go by and I had not heard from anyone. I received another surprise letter it was Tammy yet again. She had tracked me down in the Harris county jail. Her letter was such a breath of fresh air. God knows what, how, when we need. She enclosed in the letter three pictures one of the boys (John and Justin) and I, Jordan and a posting I created Oct. 17, 2016: We are moved through our dark nights by our prayers,

Just A Prayer Away

I could tell you of all the countless stories of the beautiful women that God had me to sift through, but I will only speak of one more. I was walking to medical one day and met this young woman headed to the same place. We spoke for just a few moments just to get acquainted. Then we parted ways only to meet again three days later. You see they had switched her to the pod I was in, K2. On that Saturday night she came through she said out loud, “look at God”. In her spirit, she knew we were not in the same spot by accident. Her name was LaToya, and we reconnected that night and prayed. That night Gods hand intervened on her life, forever more. You know of the countless examples of women being set free within the two jails, she was one of the most amazing. The most obvious reason is He moved fast and on purpose. Every time she woke up God had shown her something new. She was like a sponge that absorbed all of what the Father wanted her to gleam in such a short period of time.

The name of the Lord is like a strong tower; the righteous person runs to it and is set safely on high. Proverbs 18:10 NET

This journey I have relentlessly pursued has been treacherous at times, sorrow for those exhaustingly going away from His truths, and tireless bouts with waiting for His will to come forth. I became keenly aware and presumed I was waiting on God but He in His bountiful mercies of waiting far exceeds me. His wait for me was to pursue His cause with His joy beaming through my heart like a shield, that could not be squandered or excavated.

I implore you, that is what our Father wants from us all; to go all the way for Him. That means to carry the cross, in His cause whatever He has adorned you with all the way to the finish line, even if it means you are carrying it all alone. Even if there isn’t a man from Ethiopia that comes out of the crowd and aids you to carry your cross to the end. You see that’s what Simon of Cyrene did for Jesus in his day, he helped him carry the cross to the end. He carried his cross that His Father had bestowed on Him. In this day that is what we as true believers, are to do carry the cross bestowed upon us and all the way to the end or more applicable to today, the finish line.

In my cause the one that was most like Simon of Cyrene, is Michelle. If you know her, then you know her hearts posture. She is truly a nurturer, but I must admit it is after Gods heart that she moves and has her being. I was released on June 27th from Harris county jail, at 2:00 am. She came from the Fort Worth area to Houston to pick me up and she refreshed and adorned me, while God restored me. I can only imagine the image the Father showed her to take care of me, as I was tired physically and spiritually. She kept my extended family abreast of all the happenings concerning me. I knew God would not forsake me, but I just didn’t know who He would choose to love on me at such a critical moment in the journey. Even if, was the motto she imposed on herself to obey God. No matter how tough it became to get to me, and there were obstacles, she with the utmost assurance, would complete the task at hand. That is true footsteps walking as imitators of Christ. Many are convinced they are walking as imitators of Christ but without pain, suffering and anguish. That is not how He intended. Yes Jesus paid it all in that day, but that was his faith at work. In our day there must be a sacrifice (tried by the fire) of works that must come before our Lord as a sweet aroma. That is truly, obedience is better than sacrifice. This is where the Father does not accept the offering we give because it is worthless. There comes a point in obedience of His will, where our faith walk for His cause is necessary and the order of business. I humbly say what’s next Lord? As for me I currently reside at the Salvation Army in Tyler. I am slowly but confidently getting back into the swing of things to do His will for my life. I have guided others to this very spot and now it is my time. I am thankful to have a roof over my head and three meals a day to sustain my outer man.

Return to the stronghold, you prisoners, with hope; today I declare that I will return double what was taken from you. Zechariah 9:12 NET

Biblical Example of Hope Under Fire

We each have a charge to fulfill. Won’t you be fully committed to His cause and not your own or allow me to make it plain for you, Go all the way for Abba Father. Playing church is no longer acceptable because the true believers no better, so we do better. The order of business for this day is to please The Father, just as Jesus his son did.

Joseph and the master’s wife came onto him. He rejected her advances towards him. She told her husband that Joseph came onto her and he immediately placed him in jail. But it did not work out as they planned as God favored him in the sight of the keeper of the prison. Because of the favor on Joseph’s life he was put in charge of all the prisoners. So what the devil meant for harm, God worked it out for his good. So as Joseph was wrongfully tossed in jail, he chose to raise Gods cause higher than his own. As a result, God turned what would have been a time of misery, to hope anchored in Him. Ultimately, Joseph’s gift paved the way for him and placed him before great men. So even when his hope was shaken, stirred and even tossed to and fro, but never broken beyond repair. He stood firm in the sight of grave adversity and God promoted in a place of devastation.

You favored your land, O LordYou restored the fortunes of Jacob. Psalm 85:1 GW

Watch “God Knows What, How, When We Need”

I can confidently say, I have never seen the righteous forsaken or his seed begging for bread. Take a look at my latest video on how God showed up with what, how, when I needed Him. I implore you to try Him and watch Him show up for you in the nick of time. This is my account of a recent trial, in jail and how The DOCTOR gave me just the right prescription. Be mindful, man’s word will fail, but God’s word remains.

So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36 NASB

Hope: Tightrope Walk Of Faith

Her hope has anchored her
here, there, and everywhere
it perched her in the spot
of anguish only so He
could usher her into deliverance.
To satisfy her humbled
state to a visible stage of refuge.
Now she is hedged with all the places
her footsteps has tread
to protect and show
His presence of adornment
as a golden sheer on her face.
It has caused her to stand
in the midst of her darkest nights.
Nudge her from faith to faith
Held her solid when her tears were full.
And yet hover over her as
His banner over her is and shall forever
be Love.

They That Wait Upon The Lord

Here is just a taste of encouragement for anyone facing dire circumstances. Take courage and know your circumstance is not greater than God. But for those that wait upon the Lord there is strengthening due them… Also during the wait our feet are prepared for peace. Remember, whatever He brings you to, He is obligated to rescue you, out of the thing at the appointed time. So to those in the midst of their midnight, this is what He gave me and so I am delighted to share with you; Hearts Of Peace Endure (Hope).

Come back to the place of safety, all you prisoners who still have hope! I promise this very day that I will repay two blessings for each of your troubles. Zechariah 9:12 NLT

Wait for the Lordbe strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! Psalm 27:14 ESV

Here is an encouraging song: Trust In You by Anthony Brown

I am Your True Love

Shadow Of His Wings

My love is not for sale

It  can’t be measured or weighed

as it is far beyond containment.

It is commitment of promise

that has only one facet no borders,

it extends farthest and wide on a good day

shallow and deepest on a bad day.

My love for you stands on it’s own merit

and can’t be compared, it goes from

everlasting to everlasting.

My love holds you in the sweetest of times,

covers in the darkest of moments,  and

hovers in the midst of mourning.

My love is merciful, greater than a mother’s love and

mirrors as True love of Abba Father.

“I have always loved you,” says the LordBut you retort, “Really? How have you loved us?” And the Lord replies, “This is how I showed my love for you: I loved your ancestor Jacob. Malachi 1:2 NLT
