Many would like to put the cart before the horse (like the title) and obtain their harvest before ever going through the storm. God wants us to know the harvest is always after the storm. We can’t receive the harvest until we have gone through the storm. After going through the storm somehow we have a better appreciation for the harvest. You see going through the storm shapes, molds and crafts us for greater, which releases the harvest. Whereas many times we aren’t ready for the harvest as we haven’t weathered the storm.

It’s like putting on a tailor-made suit. In order to fit the suit your measurements must be precise. Going through the storm is a setup for a harvest made just for you. Although there are those that have gone through similar storms. Just know, no two harvest are alike as everyone experiences a different storm, which prepares you for a different harvest. There is not a one size fits all storm or harvest.

The steps of a good man are ordered by The Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Psalm 37:23 KJV

Often times as we go through the storms of life, we tend to want to take shortcuts, when there is really no easy way out. For obedience is what gets us through the storm and ultimately releases the harvest. Make sure you move as God orders your steps for the wrong turns and movements can cause delays. Even causes halts to things along the way.

But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the almighty when you sin. Job 5:17

Be mindful, as you move to and fro God will prompt you to help others as you are going through. At first it will not make sense to help someone as you go through as you are in distress yourself. One thing I discovered along the way as God molded and shaped me, in the midst of the storm. He always knew I had just enough left in me to help someone else. No matter how bad it appeared to be for me, He always motioned me to help someone else.

He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others when they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 2 Cor. 1:4 NLT

You see it increased compassion and reduced my self-centered ways. Each time He prompted me to help someone, even while the sea had swelled around me and it appeared the boat had capsized. I wasn’t sure how I would get through. Yet again, another opportunity to help someone else and yes again my compassion meter went through the rough and my selfishness went lessened. After so many promptings to comfort someone else it ultimately eliminated selfishness and increased compassion in me. Before I knew what happened. The only Wise God, had drained the part of me that I didn’t think was possible to change. The part of me that was interested only in self.

Biblical Example

After all Job faced, God had him to pray for his three friends. After praying God turned the tide, He restored him double what he had lost and greater. Job’s manifested harvest was based on the storms he endured. You see God allowed the storms of life to come upon Job as He is the Author and Finisher of our faith and He knew Job would make it through.

Job 42:7-11 NLT—After the Lord fhad finished speaking to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite: “I am angry with you and your two friends, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has. So take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer on your behalf. I will not treat you as you deserve, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has.” So…
